The Rock and Metal Alliance: a gateway to international showcase festivals

Rock and Metal Alliance CIC is a grassroots showcase platform dedicated to amplifying the next generation of heavy music, connecting talent with opportunity across the globe

Founded by Emma Wiggin and Rob Wood, RMA gives emerging rock and metal artists a stage in front of the industry professionals who can move their careers forward, championing bands who are ready for the next step but face barriers or don’t yet have the network to open the right doors.

Since launching in 2025, RMA has grown into a high energy hub for discovery, uniting bands, fans and industry under one roof, now with stages at festivals including Pro Weekend Festival, SXSW London, The Alternative Escape, Reeperbahn and NXNE, spanning the UK, Europe and North America.

RMAs events have already helped multiple acts secure agency representation, festival bookings and further touring opportunities, with new partnerships and territories opening up all the time.

RMA has already presented Danish bands like Persecutor at The Alternative Escape and Swartzheim both at at The Alternative Escape and Reeperbahn Festival.

At this panel Emma and Rob will share how and why they built RMA, and what does the future hold for the Alliance.

Joining them at the panel we will also have Joe Timmins from the band Swartzheim to talk about the bands collab with RMA.

Emma Wiggin is the co-founder of the Rock and Metal Alliance, a grassroots showcase platform built to amplify the next generation of heavy music. Alongside co-founder Rob Wood and the team, Emma has grown the Alliance from its launch at The Alternative Escape in Brighton into a global initiative, partnering with showcase festivals across the UK, Europe and beyond to give emerging rock and metal artists a stage in front of international industry.

The Alliance has already helped multiple acts secure agency representation, festival bookings, and touring opportunities, and Emma’s vision for it is rooted in the belief that heavy music deserves the same infrastructure, investment, and pathways as any other genre. She brings to that mission over a decade of artist management experience through her company Westwick Management, where she guides rock artists from basement venues to main stages.

A graduate of Attitude Is Everything’s Future Leaders Programme and a disability advocate, Emma also ensures that accessibility and inclusion are built into the Alliance’s DNA, from the artists it platforms to the events it runs.

With deep roots in DIY culture and an industry network spanning agents, festivals, labels and managers, Emma is helping build a stronger, more connected, and more equitable future for rock and metal worldwide
