7 bookers from just as many international festivals have announced their arrival at MONO Goes Metal Fest 2025. They have been invited to form a panel where they will let the audience in on festival details, themselves as bookers and what they are looking for when booking artists. Meet Celine Høie.
Celine Høie – by:Larm Black, Oslo
Can you tell us a bit about By:Larm Black? And your focus and musical profile?
By:Larm Black is the rock and metal program at the Norwegian showcase festival by:Larm, showcasing some of the most exciting new heavy bands. The idea is to create a space where harder music genres, often underrepresented at showcase festivals, can be presented to both fans and the international music industry.
The program has a broad musical profile, ranging from extreme metal and black metal to punk, hardcore, metalcore, alternative rock and genre-bending projects. Our focus is on highlighting emerging talent and giving new bands a platform where they can be discovered.
What is your background in the music industry and how did you start to work with By:Larm?
I work as a Senior Project Manager and A&R at Indie Recordings / Sounds Like Gold in Oslo, where I am responsible for creative processes, artist strategies, social media campaigns and publishing for all the rock and metal bands under the label.
I have been part of By:Larm since 2020, when I joined the team working on By:Larm Black. In 2024 I took on the role as Project Manager and Booking Manager for the concept, which I now run.
What is your perspective on the Danish Metal scene?
What I find especially interesting about the Danish metal scene is the strong undergrounds scene. There’s a lot of creativity and edge coming from Denmark right now, and it feels vibrant, relevant, and full of potential.
It’s definitely a scene we keep a close eye on when putting together By:Larm Black.
